Ex-Coronation Street actor dies age 89

Welsh actor Richard Davies, who played Idris Hopkins in Coronation Street has died aged 89.

  

On Coronation Street he played shopkeeper Idris Hopkins from 1974 to 1975.

Richard Davies was best known for his role as schoolteacher Mr Price in the ITV situation comedy Please Sir! His other credits include Fawlty Towers, Not The Nine O'Clock News and Doctor Who.
