Corrie Weekly Awards for Oct. 19 - 23
Bully Boy award: Yes, David is a bully. He's very good at it, especially when he's scared, himself.
Are you new here? award: Sarah believed David's bullying threats. If she'd been in her right mind, she'd have known better.
Psychic award: Johnny asks Kate to call Singh's. She picked up the phone and dialed. Didn't look it up, didn't ask what it was, just knew it off by heart apparently. (Aidan had all the paperwork with him so she couldn't have seen it on the desk)
Offence is a great Defence award: Callum's mother is worried sick but David goes on the offensive, shouting the odds and throwing her out lest anyone, most likely Sarah, starts acting suspicious.
Mind the Gap award: Audrey's definition of classical music and Ken differs by about 200 years, give or take a decade or three!
Odd Couple award: Anna's idea of a lovely girly night in is inviting Gary's fiancee over. And Gary's ex. Gary minds the baby and Cherylee Houston gets paid for a rare appearance.
Corrie Cupboard award: Izzy, Chesney, all the Alahans, Erica. They get dragged out of the cupboard for an appearance now and then. Use them or lose them, guys.
Supportive award: Nice to see Chesney (indeed, anyone) giving Tyrone a hug. Men need it too, you know.
High Horse award: Aidan's enjoying being the boss of his sister for a change, even if she's embarassing him. And he wasn't too happy that Carla hired Eva without asking him. He sure fell off that high horse once he saw Eva's blue eyes and all her other assets, though.
Daddy's Little Girl: Kate is clearly the apple of her daddy's eye, probably because they're much the same type of person, I think.
Lines of the Week:
Rita about Hope "She looks happy enough now" (I think you need your eyes
tested, she looked done in)
Alya "How can I plan a wedding based on a lie?" (It's a soap. They do it all the time)
Kate "What's better, you looking the hero saving the day, getting an order, or making our dad look a right pillock?" Aidan "That's a difficult question"
Michelle to Sarah "This is not a social club for you and your family"
Kylie "Is there anything you wouldn't do?" David "No." (She's new here, too, obviously)
Sean "HashtagJustSayin'"
Jason "What happens in lapdancing clubs, stays in lapdancing clubs" (Chesney looked jealous)
Gary "What about you and Beth? Was that love at first sight?" Kirk "No. It just grew, kinda like mold" (nice.)
Aidan "Try not to stress" Eva "Well I think that ship's sailed"
Kirk "I'm glad I'm not complicated"
Gary "Alya saw something in me that I never saw in myself" Jason "Which is..." Gary "A decent bloke" (she was right. and he's gonna crash hard when he finds out the truth)

Why would Callum's mother think the Platts owe her anything? Does she not realize what a waste of skin her son was?
For me the most ridiculous line was Rita saying Hope looked "happy enough".
No, there's nothing David wouldn't do, including trying to kill his own mum,(pitching her down the stairs) or driver her into madness, or try to kill his brother, but when Sarah mistook what he said about getting rid of her (Gail), so she wouldn't find out what they were up to, he was all shocked about it! - what do you take me for, or what kind of person do you think I am or some such.
Are they wrapping up this storyline soon? No..have to wait until after Xmas I suppose and then, one of them will end up in the Coronation street cell in prison - another trial coming up.
Izzy..time for this character to go.
Anonymous[13;56]In David's defense,I don't think he meant to kill his mother when she fell down the stairs,he was angry that she paid for Tina's abortion behind his back. Nick wasn't exactly an innocent victim either hiding behind mommy when he and Kylie had their one night stand and blackmailing David into doing a DNA test on Lily.
Like her older brother,Sarah is bugging me with her innocent 'deer in the headlights' attitude with regards to Callum's demise. She purposely dated him to cause trouble for David deapite the family's warnings about him and lured him to the house the night of his death fully aware how dangerous he is and never took any responbility for her part in the mess.
