Marc Baylis, who played Rob Donovan, has started filming back on Coronation Street.
In the show, Rob Donovan is still in prison, serving time for killing off Tina McIntyre. What's on TV says this won’t stop Rob terrorising Weatherfield once again when he begins sending out visiting orders for a number of the Street’s residents.
It was announced back in August that Marc was returning to Corrie, and ITV at the time said that Rob Donovan "has got a Connor family secret and he's not afraid to use it."
Ooh, I wonder what it is?
Whatever it is, Rob Donovan isn't in Coronation Street very long by the looks of things. Actor Marc Baylis is appearing in pantomime this Christmas at Theatre Royal, St. Helens

A third killer wandering the street. All this criminality not to my taste.
How can he "terrorize" them? What leverage could he possibly have?
I really dislike prison based plots. Making him Tina's killer was a huge mistake in the first place though.
Great news! He and Tracy have real chemistry. Also, he delivers sarcasm as good as Ken, whom does it better and more believable, than anyone else on the cobbles.
Yawn! This is a remake of the McDonald papa in jail manipulating his family. Been there, done that...
I like him. It would be great if he could come back in some sort of semi-beleivable way.
Why can't he get out on a technicality? Tracy did.
I would take Tina coming back from the dead if we got Rob back as well.
Yessiree.
Yessiree.
Yay! Looking forward to it. Maybe Tracy will see how boring Robert really is and dump him. Or Robert will realize he's only a substitute for the man Tracy really loves and dump her.
I wonder what his secret could be...that he didn't have time to reveal in the time he was already on the show. :/
Speaking of Big Jim, wasn't he supposed to be transferred to another facility where he could get day passes and visit Liz? Wasn't that the whole point of that plot?
It could be a 'secret' that Rob's been holding onto for a rainy day or it could be something he's just learnt from someone inside. Wild guess here but could it be that Michelle was married briefly after Dean died so her marriage to Steve is bigamous? Perhaps the ex- shares a cell with Rob.
Humpty, that would be a difficult storyline with Steve away from the show indefinitely. I suspect that it involves the new characters as they're going to need a kickstart storyline.
I too was really sorry to see Rob. He and Tracey had become a great couple by the end. So while I'm rapt that he's coming back - even if it's just for a cameo - I only hope the writers don't give him a personality transplant a la Todd.
Jim was going to be moved to an open prison but Steve dobbed him in about the illegal booze scheme. The guards dragged Jim away screaming. So much for the open prison.
