Brilliant news. I am totally partisan: I've loved CS for years and hated EE since I watched its first dreadful episode in 1985. I also think it's had a negative reaction on CS which, I have to say, is nothing like its glory days of the 1970s all because the telly execs felt they had to emulate the newer soap. So tonight was manna from heaven.

Nice to see Hollyoaks doing so well. With a much smaller fan base, they rarely win anything.

Although Adam Woodyatt has done 28 years on EastEnders, they've overlooked the likes of Anne Kirkbride and Helen Worth who've done 40 and 39 years respectively for the lifetime achievement.

Also, well done Corrie - well deserved! And well done to those who got an award - especially Natalie Gumede! :)

Keep it up Corrie!! EE is jumping the shark IMO..actors quiting left and right..the storylines are soooo bad and embarassing to even watch it's no wonder the actors are moving on. The Corrie writers have to pay attention to this so they don't go down that same path and let actors come and go as they please..6 months off only to come back and re hash old plots. Friday night's episode was excellent..Roy, Haley and Syliva...top notch.
The awards were well deserved.

Totally agree - Stuart Blackburn, are you listening? If you get a cv applying for a Corrie job and they have EE listed down, bin it!!!

Do what Harry Kershaw did in the 60s and 70s and create an northern enclave of writers.
