Remember when Tyrone fixed Fiz's boiler, an act of kindness that sparked another of Kirsty's jealous rages? Well it seems he's going to fix it again. As a gas fitter, he makes a great mechanic and a gas leak leaves Fiz in a coma at Christmas, so says a spoiler in today's Mirror.
It also mirrors a storyline we've seen before. Gas fitting fixed by an amateur. Tennant feeling dizzy and later collapses and ends in hospital. Remember that? Rita was the victim and Steve McDonald was the engineer, back when he had a contracting business.
In the storyline, Hope will be out of the house with Chesney, Katy and presumably Joseph and will not be affected. I assume it must be a very strong gas leak to have that kind of effect that quickly because otherwise all four residents of Number 5 would be experiencing symptoms for days or longer beforehand. I also wonder if, this time around, we'll see Tyrone arrested or fined heavily (i.e. not just a slap on the wrist) for messing with something he's not qualified to do.
Corrie has come under fire before for not portraying things realistically, will they do this one right, showing the legal implications and requirements? After the tram crash that was caused by the gas explosion at the Bistro, it was pointedly mentioned that Nick should have reported the problem straight away. People who have gas fittings are supposed to have it checked every year and have any problems fixed by a registered professional.
Meanwhile, viewers will be gripped and possibly will be reeling from the drama; we'll be on tenterhooks while we wait to see if Fiz will recover from her encounter with the "silent" killer. Your mileage may vary.

Just as wise old Frosty said last time daft head Tyrone fixed Fizz's boiler, it is illegal to touch a gas boiler unless you are corgi registered and you could get a prison sentence. A good excuse to write out Fizz in my opinion who has been a bit of spare part since the Stape business.
When Corrie do the research on an issue, they do a fantastic job with the main character/s eg the Alzheimer's story. Unfortunately, they often eventually wreck it with a dire script for the supporting characters eg Alzheimer's, surrogacy plot lines. My guess is that Fizz will survive and be very ill, thus causing much friction between Kirsty and Tyrone who will feel he has to care for her.
She's not my favourite character but I like Fiz. I don't think every character has to have a point or be constantly interesting. I like that Corrie is a bit like a jigsaw.....it's made up of lots of pieces (characters) that put together, make up the whole. Some are more to the front and some are more background pieces, but together they make the whole picture.
I hope Fiz is ok after the gas leak and yes I hope Tyrone has a massive dose of the guilts. I also hopes this gets right up Kirsty's nose. Anything that aggravates her is ok in my books!
A thought has come to Frosty, dont Fizz and Ches rent the house from the Council? In which case the landlord would arrange to have the boiler fixed and send a proper gas engineer to do so. Not quite sure why Tyrone the dunderhead who has his hands full with his family is doing it yet again when Kirsty kicked off so last time but it makes some drama I spose.
Maybe Kirsty will get rung up for trying to kill Fiz and we can finally be rid. Ugh...that woman!
I'm betting that Tyrone realizes he has feelings for Fiz during this story and Kirsty seeing this, tries to hasten Fiz's end by tampering with hospital equipment, she's found out and off to the Psych Ward she goes... :)
Tyrone could be a father to Hope if Ty and Fizz rekindle. I thought I read somewhere that Kirsty is going to tell Tyrone he is not the father. Ruby looks much too dark to be Tyrone's, given how light-skinned Kirsty is.
I am surprised that nobody has mentioned that it wasn't that long ago that they did this storyline with Rita and carbon monoxide poisoning from her gas fire, and it was Steve McDonald who was in trouble for fixing it that time I believe. (Yawn)
Can't wait I h8 kirsty I would love 2 c her arrested or sumthink possibly die wh@ she has done is just an outrage.I'm glad 2 c th@ ty has found a sane woman! Errh just get kirsty out of the show we hav seen all the sides of her mayb 2 much.
