The Sun has a good interview today with Natalie Gumede about her on screen character, Kirsty, who is about to give birth on Coronation Street tonight. Natalie isn't a mother herself so she watched the documentary show One Born Every Minute for research. That wasn't always such a good idea, particularly while having lunch! She's concerned with getting right and has said it's about more than just the screaming and hollering you see often on screen.
“The most useful thing I was told was that giving birth is primal. It’s not about shouting and screaming — it’s about the push and the job in hand. You can’t worry about how you sound or how you look. I just hope I’ve managed to get it right.”
Follow Natalie on Twitter and she's also got a blog on her website.

Just off the top of my head, I remember Brad Armstrong and Dillon Wilson, but I have a feeling there are more than that.
Incidentally, I absolutely hate the security question. I am about to guess the flipping' letters for the third time! Never mind confusing a robot, it REALLY confuses this human!
Oh bbhilda...at last someone else who has to try multiple times! I thought I was either blind or a total moron having to do it over and over and over.....swearing each time I was unsuccessful. Really some of those numbers are so fuzzy!
Nevermind the fuzzy numbers... I can't get the darn letters right because they are so squished together and distorted. Security is really difficult not just at the airport anymore...
Dillon I remembered, but forgot about Brad.
The security question is really annoying and must put a lot of posters off this board.
Another marvellous soap birth, labour of half an hour with first born and no gas and air, Kirsty would have been in true agony not acting like she was a bit constipated! What is wrong with Weatherfield Ambulance Service in that they take hours to turn up to emergencies???? Tyrone the half wit dad again leaves his mobile in the car so he cant be contacted.
Unfortunately we have no control over how the "captcha" security works and it really does cut down on the amount of spamming comments we get
Good episode..the babe is finally here and Tyone is really going to get what's coming to him. OOOhhh...can't wait!!
Frosty the Snowman - you've given birth that often that you can say for certain that Kirsty was doing it wrong? However, your reference to "gas and air" was both amusing and disturbing! :)
PS I realize that the security associated with comments is linked directly to the blog server but it is very frustrating. Frankly, I am often about to do better at it simply by guessing; not very secure, I'd think.
