Hi I am Richard and with Flaming Nora away I have briefly taken up residence in the update hot seat. My apologies this is late but unexpectedly real life got in the way.

By rights by now Kirsty should have had her baby and her comeuppance - but so far no luck with either. The whole world does not believe Tina's story about Kirsty being abusive - after all she is pregnant mother and they don't go around hitting the father of their unborn child. Ty on instructions from "She Who Must Be Obeyed" makes it entirely clear that he wants his money on the dot and when he looks like he is wavering Kirsty takes over the debt collecting duties herself waking Tommy in the middle of they day - remember he has two jobs, pizza delivery and night watchman - when he is supposed to be sleeping. Tina delivers the cash and gets told off by Kirsty who wants to make sure that her position is unassailable.

Paul decides that Eileen's needs a makeover and gets his furniture and a vase from store and replaces the sofa and puts the vase on the newly introduced sideboard - all without a mention to the other residents of the house. The vase is pretty ugly and is an instant talking point but it was apparently a favourite of Paul's late wide. Later with an expansive spreading of his arms Sean is moves it on to the ground and into pieces as he had earlier declared that it deeply offended his finely honed sense of style. He goes on line once sober and finds it is available for £65. No doubt Janet will tell you what happens next, next week.

Sunita is starting to find Karl hard work and wants him to get a proper job - the fire alarms bought last week are faulty and keep going off at random keeping Jack and many others awake all night so Karl has to hand out refunds and Sunita has to admit to Dev that she had the money out of the joint account. What Sunita does not know is that Karl ran into Stella in Nick's bar and asked if he could come home. Stella told him to get lost but if her memory work she might remember to tell Sunita he asked.

Steve and Michelle are trying to sort out the replacement Ryan who is not really her son remember and has got stuck into drugs, but apparently unlike ones I have met seems able to give up instantly and Steve being a good kindly caring individual convinces Dev to employ Ryan in the kebab shop where miraculously the manager has just run off with one of the workers - people we never even met. Tracy asks Dev to employ her as well and although neither of them have any training or have the relevant health certs both are working on the same shift before the end of the episode. Even more amazing is that Tracy puts her brain into gear and decides that a fit young man she can handle and has talked him into his bed with her also before the end of the episode.

Somewhere along the way Rob decided that Eva was not that bad and puts right the brief break up - but continues to flirt with Stella when he gets half a chance.

And Tommy - well Kirsty screws his job at the pizza company when she sends him back with a "wrong" order and then he is on his way to or from the warehouse job when he drops off to sleep and drives into a parked lorry.

How come Dev is suddenly doing "so well" with the kebab shop that has been absent for months There are never any customers in there, not counting Beth who was given a kebab on the house. And please Health & Safety, anyone, get Tracy to wash and tie up that greasy lank hanging hair, its supposed to be a food shop!

The Doner shop has always been a joke, a quick fix to somewhere to employ folk on the Street or strangers to move along a plot line. What about Dev's other businesses? What about his other herd of mistresses and children? Further evidence that the entire Dev entourage is little more than a plot device.

what's up with the blindfold on Ryan while Tracy has him taste test the condiments. She gives him a mouthful of garlic and then starts playing tonsil hockey at which point the 3rd waste of viewing time walks in..Dev. Why is this character still on? Why is Tracy still on? Why am I still watching? I guess I'm still hopeful there'll be a glimpse of the old Corrie out there somewhere. I did enjoy Rita putting Gloria in her place though.
