An affair to remember (but we wish we could forget)

For weeks now we've been suffering this Karlita affair. It's out of character for her and the sleaze factor is rising (or should that be dropping) rapidly.

This week sees the penny dropping for Dev and his radar is up. He may have got the wrong idea when he found the cash but he's on the right road.

Watching Sunita grasping for straws and trying to bluff her way out of his accusations brought a few bad memories back for me. The affair might be so wrong for these characters and Corrie but I have to admit there's a very real element of honesty in it. Affairs really are like that. Sleazy, full of lies and cover ups.

Read more about it over here.

Karl and Sunita's affair storyline has been absolutely awful. The scripwriters are obviously struggling to come up with any interesting plots for either character. However I agree that there is an element of honesty in how the affair is being portrayed.

I was surprised at how well JImmi H pulled off the heartbroken husband. Very convincing. It was quite a good episode (except for Stella once again in the mix). That Sunita has turned into one bald faced liar and I'm afraid there'll be no redeeming this character when her affair with Karl is discovered.

Yay!!!

It might be very true to life but that's not enough for a drama. We have to be in there with the characters, taking sides, and to be fair to Dev, I don't understand why this worm has suddenly turned. Is Sunita really in love with Karl or is he simply the trigger for leaving Dev? I think she's bored - in which case, go out and do some voluntary work! No sympathy for any of the characters in this storyline.

You've hit the nail right on the head Tvor. Sleazy as it may be, there is a very real element in this story line!! Yes it is out of character for Sunita, but when you're the less dominant one in a relationship and you've gone along with the bullying, slight or not, for years, just to keep the peace, quite often there comes a time when you've had enough of being a doormat and the worm turns...hence it's out of character. And yes I know this for a fact.

For an affair to make an interesting drama you have to care about the characters. Who cares about any of the 4 involved in this story? Affairs involve deceit. Wow, I'd never have guessed.
