He's been back for a few episodes now but what you do make of Terry Duckworth this time around? And for those who can't remember him when he was on Coronation Street before, are you enjoying the character this first time around?
Me? Well, I was never that keen on him before, not when he used to upset Jack and Vera but I always loved his friendships with Kevin and Curly way back in the day. And while I would never expect Nigel Pivaro to win Best Actor in a soaps award ceremony, he does bring a certain menace to the cobbles.
This time around, without Jack to constrain him in any way, with Tyrone not being anywhere near a match for Terry and with Tommy looking for the father-hero he's convinced must be inside that stocky frame, he's worse than ever. And I'm loving it.
So what do you make to Terry Duckworth this time around? Terrible or Terrific?

I think he's hilarious this time and I love him ! Used to switch him off back in the day ! Congrats to Nigel Pivaro !
He's terrific because he's terrible!
I love him, he's a villian, but he's not a traditional one, he's a loveable one :D
I liked the bit when he loosened his tie when the lapdancer came into the pub to audition. It was a hoary cliche but he did it well.
He is terrifically terrible, I am liking Terry who is being played marvellously tongue in cheek by Nigel Pivaro. His over exaggerated eye rolling is just so Pantoesque. He is a million times more entertaining to watch that the ghastly Fiz, moaning Sophie or little ferrit Kevin who has nowhere to go but get back for the umpteenth time with his ex wife which has to be one of the most boring storylines ever.
Really enjoying him, I'm surprised to say. Nastiness with a big dollop of fun on the side. It'll be interesting to see what happens when he comes up against a really nasty piece of work like Rick the Loanshark.
Really enjoying him, much to my surprise. He's bad with a big dollop of fun on the side. Hope we see a bit more of him in future.
It'll be interesting to see how he bares up when confronted with a real villain like Rick the Loanshark.
Also has anyone else noticed how much he's voice has started to sound like Jack's?
Terrific. He's great value for money. As Frosty said, he's much more entertaining to watch than many of the existing cast.
Terry's horrible, Nigel's fun to watch and I'm loving it. It's great to have a real villain instead of the tediously conniving Tracy.
Very much the panto villain. Corrie seems to be becoming a mixture of panto and sitcom (why bother with characterisation, plausible plot etc?) and Terry fits brilliantly. I imagine Nigel is have a whale of a time and that comes across.
Bohemian Rhapsody sequence was awsome. Mary trying to rally the troops..Norris ordering dinner - very Corrie.
Here at Tubb Towers we always boo and hiss when Evil Terry comes on stage! I am really enjoying NP's performance, just the right amount of not taking it too seriously. And his interaction with poor old Tommy, who trails behind him looking like a kicked puppy is very well played by both actors.
You know it will all end in tears, but I hope not too soon!
ITS R'TERRY!!
Oh he's the villan you just love to hate.
I hope Tommy realises how evil he is!!
BTW does anyone remember back in the 90s when Jack and Vera had the B&B, and the Duckies, Tyronne and Maria, Norris, Gary Mallet and baby Tommy went on holiday to Blackpool? :D
Geat times :D
You've got to be sitcom or panto, not both. In a sitcom/soap, NP's acting just comes across as appalling acting.
" It's just good old fashioned entertainment. Everyone loves a villain." Andy Kaufman of Tony Clifton.
As Andy had Tony, so Nigel has Terry. He's a nasty piece of work. Always out for a quick pound, no matter who he had to mess over to get it. Good grief, he sold his son to his in-laws and nearly killed poor Vera so he could keep both his kidneys and the dosh! Nothing's changed, only now he's running out on his grown-up son as well as contractors, to whom he owes some serious cash! What WILL it take to smarten this guy up?
