Kym Marsh's fiance to join Coronation Street?

There's a story in today's Sunday Mirror that reckons Kym Marsh could be welcoming her real-life fiancé Jamie Lomas to Coronation Street as the actor who will play Carla Connor's brother.

The paper says that Kym told friends: “I’m so excited. It looks like he’s ­getting the part.”

Rumours were circulating a very long time ago that Shameless actor David Threfall, who plays Frank Gallagher, was up for the part of Carla Connor's brother. 

I don't know Jamie Lomas as I've never seen Hollyoaks but for those readers who do watch Hollyoaks, what do you think about him possibly joining Coronation Street?  Any good?
