This happened on Facebook last night/this morning (I've removed the surnames to protect our identities a little, although I appreciate that if you look on Facebook you can probably see them...) and I thought it was interesting enough to post. When we first met Craig and his mam I immediately thought that Craig was going to turn out to be Steve's son, and thought at the time that it might be another wedge between Becky and Steve.
Now that they're back and seem to be staying at least for a while, I'm even more convinced. I actually seem to recall that when we met Beth and she told Steve how old Craig was, you could see his eyes widen as he did the mental calculations - I think he knows, but hasn't said anything yet. That will cause yet more friction with Tracy, because Amy won't be Steve's only kid, and we all know Steve will do the decent thing and provide for him.
What do you think? Do you think he could be Steve's son?

Yeah. Although he called his rat Darren after his dad. But it could be possible. Isn't he 13, and they dated 10 years ago?
I love this idea and hope it's true and Craig's ginger and so was Liz so ginger hair is in the genes!!
I don't remember exactly, but I can remember thinking "Oh, that is enough of a gap to allow Steve to be his dad". Not sure, but it's a theory :)
And with Beth launching herself at Steve like a mangonel, to no avail, wouldn't she have brought up a little matter of her son's paternity?

Yes i thought Steve said he'd dated Beth 10 years ago but Craig is 13. Though steve did say Beth was a model and fantastic looking the one time he dated her. Guess she never mentioned a son. Wouldn't be the first time they changed the backstory though and yes, it would be wonderful if he was Steve's son!
Must have been snoozing at the time but I never thought of that little twist - Craig being Steve's son. I can see fantastic scenes with Craig, Steve and Lloyd in the cab office - wish Eileen was back there - then those scenes would be even more fantastic and funny.
That would be a very amusing twist; particularly funny if Beth couldn't remember all the men she'd been with at the time (as she was allegedly hot back then) and somehow paternity is proved... like emergency organ transplant! ;)
Nah...Beth even commented that nothing had happend with Steve.
