After reading some upcoming spoilers in the Radio Times, I notice it mentioned that The Weatherfield Arms will be seen once again in the show.
Back around 2004-5, The Weatherfield Arms was seen nearly as much as The Rovers Return, with Bev Unwin, Liz McDonald and Cilla Brown all working there at some point, though it eventually stopped being used.
Similarly, The Flying Horse used to be shown and referenced all the time in the show, then ceased being mentioned. Until 2009, when the pub (right) was seen once more for Tyrone's stag do, The Flying Horse is now back to being referenced by residents commonly, and even seen when Owen went to confront Jim.

That Nick!! Too bad John Stape doesn't have a reason to bump him off! He's getting very good at this murder thing.

Never saw the point in introducing the Weatherfield Arms when the Flying Horse was the other local for most of the show's history
