All Corrie villains get their comeuppance and Tony Gordon's no exception. Inside Soap magazine reveals Tony gets his day in court before he's put behind bars. I wonder if he'll pop in and see Tracy Barlow for a cuppa in her cell? Now there's an evil pairing, if ever there was one.
Carla Gordon returns as Tony's banged up and she takes over Underworld, putting Hayley in charge. Go on, our Hayles! See, it all works out in the end. I do hope Carla changes her name back to Carla Connor, it's just so much her.
And as for Roy Cropper? Once he dries out from the Corrie canal, he'll be back behind the cafe counter and all will be well with the world.
The official ITV Corrie site has a video interview with Alison King who talks about Carla's return, watch it here. And The Life of Wylie blog has the inside story on filming at the Corrie canal with an excellent interview with Corrie producer Kim Crowther.

No, all won't be well with the world - it will be rubbish without Tony Gordon and it will be unbearable with the dreadful, ugly Carla back. I can't stand her.
Pity Tony saves Roy, could do without him too.
Ohhh...I was hoping for Tony's comeuppance, but now I'm fantasizing him making a grand jailbreak...if Luke Strong can make off with Roseie/John Stape's money, a Tony Gordon who off'd a boring character like Liam should be rewarded with a grand "escape" plotline. As for Carla, I'm not crazy about her either so perhaps she gets to spend time as well in lock-up for with-holding evidence.
Yes, I agree with with the two comments above. It's such a shame that Tony will get his comeuppance, but I think Carla deserves her comeuppance too for all the bad she has done.
Carla disgusts me as much as Tony does, in honesty. Even more so, in some respects, as she used the murder of the man she loved to blackmail Tony into handing over the factory.
I hope Alison King isn't in it for the long haul - Carla is far more suited to life on Albert Square than on the cobbles of Weatherfield. I don't like her character at all.
I also don't like Carla and haven't missed her character one iota since she drove out of Weatherfield having dsicovered that Tony was Liam's murderer.
I don't know what it is about her but it doesn't work for me. I think it's just that she isn't really a Coronation Street character!
Have to say that I also really enjoy watching the backstage videos which have been put up on the official ITV/Corrie website.
I recently watched the one you've alluded to in your blog and also watched the one where David Neilson (Royston) is seen discussing his character's canal fight scene with nemesis, Tone Gordon.
But why is it that luvvies, David and (also) Alison King speak in silly, effected 'posh' voices for the duration of their interviews?
All very 1960s I have to say!
Tony Gordon gone. Coronation street has now offically finished. what a great character he his. Maria now has no reason to remain in coronation St. Tony made her seem more intersting then she really is.
Yes, I agree that Maria is one of the WEAKER characters in the show who was dreadfully, awfully BORING when partnered with Liam.
She should now exit Weatherfield for GOOD.
i disagree, maria is exciting with or without tony!
i look forward to seeing what she does next!
i think carla is so good at this part i was so upset when she leavt but now its fine and maria why does she have to go why why why????
