The previews are in from ITV for next week’s Corrie and heaven help me, give me strength for I can barely type up the words. Bernie takes the pee. Yes, you read that right.
What with Kirk’s bum rash, his “our soles”, this week we have wee. Come on, Corrie. You can do Oh! SO much better than this. You're turning crude and nasty in a way you've never been before.
Gemma returns home desperate for a wee. Handing her a bucket Bernie tells her the loo’s broken. Bernie then uses Gemma’s wee to produce a stack of positive pregnancy tests and takes a picture on her phone.
Bernie admits to Michael that she blocked the loo on purpose to allow her to get Gemma’s wee and sell positive pregnancy tests on the internet, Michael is gobsmacked. Michael advises Bernie that if she wants to make serious money she should buy the pregnancy kits in bulk and sell them on a legitimate site. He agrees to go into business with her for 25% of the profits.

Corrie is in the gutter. Apart from that words fail me.
As I recall about a year ago people were complaining that the show needed more humour and lighter stories well now we've got both, the same people who were complaining before are still complaining.
Is this a thing? I had no idea
I just knew there were going to be totally stupid storylines in the further adventures of the Chesney and Gemma show! Now the Bernie addition!
Beyond words really, surely to goodness they can come up with better plots than this. Dredging the bottom of the barrel here aren't they?
David, not sure whether it's the same people who disliked the dark storylines who are now not liking these comedy storylines. I for one enjoyed most of Kate Oates' Corrie, there was always a buzz around the show and if there was one story you didn't like there was always something else going on that you did. I hated the Billy heroin story-line, absolutely hated it and voiced my opinion as a fan of his character , but that didn't mean I disliked that era on the whole.
Now, I just wish they'd focus so much more on the relationships of the characters and how they interact with each other. Comedy for me mainly comes from witty comments, funny banter and genuine laughter between the characters, rather than forced situations like this.
It's been three years since we had Kylie's funeral, the last time Billy Mayhew did any actual vicaring in his own church ... so let's start there, who are the characters, what makes them them, build stories around that. Let's see him being a decent Dad to Summer to make amends for the mess of a man he was in 2018. He has a lot to make up for and we haven't seen any of that on screen.
Gemma's mom is such a disgusting character.
