The Star claimed this week that both soaps were in trouble after scripts were leaked and there was unrest behind the scenes.
The article quoted unnamed sources complaining about crew members threatening to walk out unless bosses addressed concerns over the new six-episode weeks and faulty equipment. Additional concerns over the crew having to work around the cast's availability during the busy Christmas period were also mentioned.
And now a Coronation Street spokesperson has hit back against the allegations. They told the Mirror: "We have not been made aware of any broken equipment or issues over scheduling. If anyone had such concerns we would expect to be made aware of it directly."
Such is the power of the soaps, eh, that they can still make front page headlines, even when there's nothing to report!

The crew SHOULD have to work around the casts' availability; the cast is more important, being more visible and less easily substituted for.
Yes, but wouldn't the crew be unionized while the actors have individual contracts? That might give the crew more clout than the cast.
The actors may each have individual contracts - but they, also, are unionized. "Equity" is the trade union for actors in the UK.
