Sean Tully to get a new fella on Coronation Street

Antony Cotton, who plays Sean Tully on Coronation Street, was interviewed today on ITV's Lorraine show and revealed there'll be a new fella for Sean on the soap.

Digital Spy report that when host Lorraine Kelly suggested that Sean needs to find a new man, Antony replied:

"Well, funny you should say that. In our world, things change at the drop of a sixpence. You think one thing's going to happen, the writers think of something else and it goes in a different direction. But there is a chance that something may be happening along those lines in the future.

It will be somebody completely… actually, I can't say any more otherwise I'll just talk! It might change, it might not happen in the way we might think it happens at the moment. But I'm very excited, and this July marks the beginning of my tenth year in Corrie."

Oh, more screen time for Sean? Hurray... Let's pray it's someone who can help Sean grow up and develop out from his stereotype.

It's Norris. And Sean discovers his real mother is Gloria. It is never explained how because no one cares.

Yes, all of that and a decent storyline!

Oh Lordy, was hoping the new producer would actually see what an annoying unpopular exhausted character he has become and get rid.

Oh joy - I guess his dancing wasn't good enough to get him on Chicago then. I'm afraid it isn't a character I warm too. We need to bring back some stronger characters and some good northern humour again before we end up becoming an Easties clone of misery.

Let's hope the new fellah is an undertaker.

Oh no, no, no ... Anthony Cotton as an actor has not the emotional range to pull off serious centre-stage storylines. It'll be embarrasing. Again!
