Although in the 1960's end credits the Rovers looked different from this version too, and not only that, the Mission Hall was right next door to it, and even the street looked different back then, as each house had it's own bay window, instead of the joined ones that started to appear as the 1960's went on.

With the window on the right hand side of the doors, it would make the age old mystery of the Rover's toilets being in Uncle Alberts house irrelevent. The windows would stretch the building enough to fit the toilets in properly!
Wow! But obviously it's a shot somewhere in old Salford and they've dressed a pub up as the Rovers because it doesn't match any of the sets that they had for the "exterior" shots. Even the doorways are different! Wonderful stuff though
