Kate Ford, who plays psycho Tracy Barlow on Coronation Street, has scotched any rumours that Tracy's leaving the soap.
In an interview today in The Mirror, Kate talks about her role as Tracy on Corrie and her real-life love of being a mum to her son Otis. “Being a mum is the most rewarding thing I have ever done,” she says.
Kate also reveals that there are more tumultuous times ahead for Tracy in Coronation Street.
“I think Tracy has always hoped that once Becky was out of the way that her life would be a whole lot easier. But after what’s happened since, it will be far from that. I think there’s a lot more drama on the way. There are loads of twists and turns with this story. Steve and Tracy might be planning their wedding... but it will be far from straightforward. Luckily my love life is not nearly as complicated. I don’t think I could cope if it was!"

For this character to have any credibility, it should have been recast. Kate Ford has always been an embarrasingly bad actress but hey - let's bring her back and renew her contract over and over again. It just shows how out of touch as a producer Phil Collinson is.
I thought she said a while ago that she didn't want to renew her contract because she wanted to spend more time with her family in London and now she apparently is going to stay forever.
I think she was a casting mistake from the first time I saw her.
In my opinion Dawn Acton could do bitchy better than Kate Ford has ever been able to do.
Collinson never brought Kate Ford in but he should withdraw his head from wherever he's got it and get rid of her.
Agreed, Kate Ford's acting in Friday's episode was just terrible. The character has no credibility at all. The writing was particulary dire too. Who actually says "Oww" when they are in pain? And best of all: "Mum, it hurts!". You have to laugh.
I can't belive that he writers would think the viewers would buy into Tracy's character randomly banging on hotel room doors to find Steve. First, the front desk clerk would never give info on who is or isn't at their hotel and second, a large hotel owner would never sit and discuss contracts of any kind in a bar located inside the hotel. Not done...very poorly written.
I like Kate Ford as Tracy, now that they have gotten the character back to being how she was before the stupid murder storyline
