I missed seeing Beth's original debut a few months back, so this week was my first time seeing her. When she walked into the factory, I was instantly reminded of two characters, Janice Battersby and Cilla Battersby-Brown.
I know that some people didn't like Cilla, but I thought she was great, a bit over the top sometimes, but she added a lot of fun to the street with her various schemes, Corrie has been missing a character like her for sometimes and I think it's about time we got another.

I love her already. I think the writers are going to have great fun with her.
Sorry I thought she was awful, why is someone who is rude and chavvy thought hilarious? There is no way anyone would have given her a job the way she acted at the interview yesterday. Another irritating character that can operate a sewing machine!
i love her too and I think she's got something Cilla never had - a maternal instinct - she clearly loves that lad Craig!
Ohmygod she made me laugh until i cried! I think she's going to be superb and the more she winds up Anna Foster the better!!!!
I hope she's not the new Cilla who was a vile gold digger and we've heard nowt from her even though Ches is a new dad and Fiz was in prison for months. I guess she died or something and the writers forgot to tell the viewers.
Beth...ho-hum. I think she will be the same character as Teresa Morton...big mouth gobby cow.
Representing a classic Corrie character - the show must always have it's Ena Sharples - it's about time we had another character with crazy schemes who is a thorn in someone's side. Also great that she's quirky and has that creepy son. I've noticed in the comments sections that some posters appear to dislike every character and/or actor on the Street these days - makes me wonder why they still watch and comment here!
I don't think that Beth, although certainly 'gobby' will be anything like Theresa Morton, who had been round the block atime or two and was cynical, jaded and crafty.
I think Beth might be a kind-hearted type who'll bring some audacious humour to her character, and,as mentioned, she seems to care for Craig, who'll be quite the character too, I'd imagine.
She's definately got more heart than Cilla
I loved her at Franks faktry! Yes, she's laid her cards out well already. She's gobby, but in a clever way and with care about her son, and some DIY self-esteem, thinks on her feet. I don't think she was rude either, just being a strong woman and taking care of her family, plus seeing Anna Foster for who she is and sideswiping that nasty woman! Looking forward to seeing more of her. She's got more of a twinkle in her eye than the glint that Teresa Morton did, or the dollar signs in Cilla's.
I think I'm with Frosty on this one, but I'll wait to see how she fits in with others. Yeah, nobody would ever ever be hired with an interview like that, but this is Corrie and normal rules of commerce do not apply. With Mary and Tracy dug in, Beth might be one more cartoon character than the street can handle.
Mary, Beth, fight!
I'm with Frosty... Awful. She irritates the hell out of me. And her acting isn't a patch on Cilla and I find all her storylines super dull. C'mon Corrie, you can do better than Beth!! Get rid, purlease.
