Kym Marsh has been named Celebrity Mum of the Year. The actress and mother-of-two plays Michelle Connor in Coronation Street and is mum to David, 14, and Emily, 11.Kym said: "It is a real honour to get this award. It is nice to know I have got a lot of support out there, it has been a really difficult year. I have been a single parent in the past and I have had struggles so hopefully people still think I have done the best by my children."

Oh how dreadfully dull and ridiculous
Kym Marsh may well be a very good mother but Michelle has to be one of the worst ever!
I don't think it's dull or ridiculous. The woman's been through a lot and all in the sometimes nasty glare of the public eye too.
Like most awards -- it's all about publicity and money...goes with the game as dull and ridiculous it is. Could not care about this actress's private life -- it's private and none of my business. As long as she's healthy and able to do her work - that's really all that matters to viewers like me.
I do think that when her Michelle character is holding a baby -- she does look great! So much more natural than the Maria character who always seems to look clumsy or awkward whether she's holding the baby, pushing the pram, etc.... go figure...
The actress who plays maria was 8 1/2 months gone when she filmed these last couple of weeks episode, she filmed her last ones at 9 months so thats why maria seems awkard with the baby!
The actress has since had her baby girl - Freya Helen Smith!
