In next week's Coronation Street we're going to find out the truth about the Bailey family and why they moved to Coronation Street. So far, we've been led to believe that it was son James who was the wayward one, the one who caused the family to up sticks and move away from their home.
But in next week's Corrie, we'll find out that it wasn't James at all who forced the move. It was Edison.
"Ed has a dreadful gambling problem," this week's Inside Soap magazine reveals. "His addiction spiralled so badly that the Bailey family lost everything prior to moving to the cobbles. Aggie thinks her husband's gambling days are behind them but it transpires that Ed is up to his old tricks again. He's got himself into a lot of financial trouble."
Didn't see that one coming. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

Finally. Hopefully a decent storyline for Lorna to get her teeth into
I had a school friend whose family lost their home due to Dad's gambling addiction - - - so a genuine problem is being dealt with here.
Have we not already dealt with this issue through Robert and Carla each having a gambling problem?
Have we not already had comments in many other storylines? I just do not get the point of moaning? Gambling affects many people and if it was played before, then surely it could be played again? This time it is affecting a whole family, and what other stories could be played? Tell us what Corrie has not done yet?
