Didn't enjoy Moira the first time.
Billy needs to send Summer to Geraldine. He is not fit to care for her anymore. Summer is old enough to be unswayed by Geraldine's homophobia, besides, surely this is not the only topic Geraldine talks about.
Agreed Shells. Summer's grandfather is also there, and he seems to have changed his thinking concerning their treatment of Drew, so there's that, too.
Summer needs a stable home life. Despite her faults, Geraldine has shown more genuine concern for Summer's well-being than Billy ever has. Billy keeping Summer there when he knows he's struggling to cope is selfish, and in line with most of the "parenting" he's done up till now. Summer's life has been nothing but drama since her dad died, which is the last thing she needs. If Drew could weigh in, I bet he'd want Summer out of Billy's "care".
At the very least, it would be nice to see Summer's grandfather step in and convince Geraldine that they need to help, maybe by moving in to help Billy and Summer until he recovers/completes rehab/whatever. If Billy and Geraldine can't compromise on that, then they clearly don't have Summer's best interests at heart, and that poor is stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Just thinking too, if they soften Geraldine up a bit she could become the battleaxe we've been searching for!
