I've just today received my copy of the wonderful Inside Soap Yearbook 2018. It's a recap of all things in soap land over the last 12 months plus a few teasers as they look ahead to what's coming next year.
In an interview with Julia Goulding, who plays Shona Ramsey in Coronation Stret, she says this about her sneak preview for 2018:
"Last Christmas Day, Billy found Shona drinking alone in church, so I think she deserves a better Christmas this year! But whether she'll get it or not, you'll just have to stay tuned. She's also on her way to a really lovely friendship in 2019. But you'll need to wait and see who it's with."
Oh, please let it be Gail!

No, sorry, still can't take to Shona. Too bland, too boring, totally unsuited to David. Would rather see some of the longer-established characters get some decent storylines.
Why do I get the feeling that Shona's 'mystery friendship'is a code word for yet another affair storyline?
Perhaps she and Gary both of whom are now living at the Platts develop a friendship that leads to an affair.
'a really lovely friendship in 2019'. I'm hoping that's a typo otherwise she's going to be around, not doing much, for most of next year. It sounds like a gentle friendship which could be with Roy or maybe it's with a toned-down version of Carla. Carla needs a friend and it won't be Michelle.
