And so it goes with Alya next week on Coronation Street.
After sleeping with Jason a few weeks ago, Alya thinks she might be pregnant.
As she prepares for a business meeting at Underworld, Alya is suddenly overcome with nausea and scuttles off to the loo leaving Sally to deal with the client. In the Rovers loos, Alya toys with a pregnancy testing kit but loses her nerve and shoves it back in her bag.
Alya ends up confessing about her night with Jason, to Sinead and swears her to secrecy. Ooh, dearie me. Poor Gary, he deserves better than Alya. I can't be the only Corrie fan who's hoping he'll see sense and get back with Izzy soon.

Funny, I predicted that Alya would get pregnant when she slept with Jason when it first happened. No, I'm not feeling smug about being right, just a little bit bored about how predictable the storyline is.
So, so predictable. Can't the writers think of anything but pregnancy stories? Alya and Gary aren't at all realistic as a match, but I don't want Gary and Izzy together either. In fact, izzy should go off and join her father wherever he is and take invisible baby Jake/Joseph/who cares with her. Quite unbelievable that Jason would dally with the girlfriend of a good mate, anyway.
Why is Gary such a prize?
Typical old cliche storyline! Yawn...
They keep calling it a pregnancy scare so maybe this time she won't be. I agree, it's a fairly standard soap opera law.
But hasn't that been down as well? I can't remember who it was. Someone thought they were pregnant so they confess to the 'deed'....then turns out they weren't anyway! Just a ploy to get the truth out.
Snorefest.....everybody knew this would happen. And Gary and Alya are THE worst mismatched couple ever. A young Muslim woman with a University degree and a part time cafe worker with anger management problems living with his mother...Yay!
I don't think they're well matched either. I can see what he sees in her, she's gorgeous and smart but what on earth she sees in him I don't know. I like Gary, but at the moment he hasn't got much of a future, and has a child to support.
Terrible mismatch. She's way out of his league. But it happens when you're young- you choose someone who isn't right for you, only to out grow them. Come to think of it, can happen when you're older too (Carla choosing Peter?!) Perhaps the new Connor guy will be better for Alya. Perhaps Ryan will come back with a university degree.
Maybe the atraction is down to her dad being friends with him, but it would have been better if they played this out on screen more.
No worries. Jason has boinked plenty of girls, women,old ladies on this Street and not one has got pregnant.
Good heavens. Has no one on this Street heard of birth control? Sure Alya may not have been prepared but you can't tell me Jason wouldn't be. Just plain stupid.
