In this week's fab Inside Soap magazine there's an interview with Conor McIntyre, who plays Pat Phelan.
"They haven't killed off Phelan, and there is always a fear he could return", says Conor. "I would love to come back. He hasn't had his comeuppance so if they want him back for anything, it'll be to see him get his just deserts."
"The general concensus is that viewers hate Phelan, so it's a job well done for me! They don't spit or shout when they see me, but the do tell me how they feel. I say to them 'Yep, I'm with you. He's awful and has no redeeming qualities at all'. I love that people are invested in this storyline so much. I have had such a strong reaction because people genuinely care!"
Would you like to see Pat Phelan back to get his comeuppance? I know I would - and I think Anna should be the one to dish it out to him. Maybe she could serve him up a poisoned bacon barm in Roy's cafe?

It would be nice to have some closure to the story line without violence or death. If the writers are capable of it.
Hmmm, it would be great if Anna could mastermind a financial sting where Phelan would be somehow become beholden to an even bigger and dreadful bully.
Not sure if I would like to see Phelan back, although I think he was a great villan, its best left where it is. And get his come uppance? I think its Owen that has got the comeuppance frankly.
Yes, we really need some closure. He's a baddie and he must pay! The only problem is that he will probably have to die and we'll have yet another murder mystery.
So evil... that Phelan...
Hmmmmm 'Anna' and 'mastermind' in the same sentence?? Methinks not! Lol
I'd love it if his wife finally got fed up enough to go to the police with the records of all his dodgy dealings & he got put away for a long time, preferably with some of the people he's had crooked deals with. One of them could get even & kill him in prison. Then we wouldn't have to go through another murder on that one street! (It's more dangerous than Cabot's Cove, or Midsommer.)
I'm not sure Phelan needs any comeuppance. He was brought in from beyond the tiny universe of the Street for a purpose. The Windarms were greedy and arrogant. Only Anna was cautious but then the lovely Katie poured poison in her father's ear that Anna was used to being poor.
Owen's got his comeuppance and Phelan was the mechanism through which it happened. Phelan can send postcards, make phone calls, but I don't want to see him back.
Maybe at some point they will read that Phelan came to a sticky end, but it will come as no comfort to them.
I have no sympathy for the Windarms - they knew Phelan was a dodgy bankrupt in the first place, yet chose to put themselves where they are.
They have only themselves to blame.
Agreed the Windarms were stupid and greedy, didnt Gary go behind Owen's back thinking he was businessman of the year, who can forgot his remark of "Phelan wont mess with us again". It is they not Phelan that got their comeuppance.
I don't have much sympathy for Anna and don't want her to start more screeching towards him. I think it would be funny if he bought the house and became their landlord (yes I know he is a bankrupt, but this is Corrie land we are talking about).
In a manner of speaking what is happening to the Windass household is comeuppance for their treatment of Joe McIntyre.
Please no more of this dreadful story!
I agree with the camp that concludes the comeuppance was for the Windbag/Arsestrongs for a multitude of sins which started with Joe MacIntyre's descent into hardtimes and his eventual death. If you ask me, they got off lightly from a moral standpoint. We do not require closure for every crime. If one believes in karma, that is fine. Phelan will get his -- just offscreen. The taxman gets him or a bigger fish does a number on him. But I wasn't invested and still not invested enough in this entire storyline to want to see Phelan or his annoying wife back. The Windbag/Arsestrongs are not sophisticated enough to exact the kind of financial revenge required so NO... there's no credible story here.
i can only agree with the comments made by laura(funny too) this idea hannah is some kind of genius has to be one of the most stupid things ive heard.
Wouldn't it be just a hoot if Anna was preggers? Who's kid would it be?
Obviously I despised the character he portrayed...BUT....he is a very 'strong' character with a compelling presence... I definitely would like to see him back again....
