Hayley's iconic red anorak to be auctioned for Meningitis Trust

Earlier this week on twitter I asked what would happen to Hayley's iconic red anorak when Julie Hesmondhalgh leaves the show later this year. I know, it's going to be sadder than a sad thing on national sad day, but leaving the show she is.

Anyway, Julie Hesmondhalgh, who plays Hayley Cropper in Coronation Street, has tweeted back to us to say she's going to be auctioning off Hayley's red anorak to raise funds for charity.

Did you know, that red anorak was reportedly taken off sale in Dorothy Perkins in 2004 after Hayley was spotted wearing it when she first appeared on Coronation Street.

And it's not the first time Julie's auctioned off Hayley's red anoraks for charity.
