Creepy Kirsty’s so evil that even the ITV continuity woman took against her this week. Mind you, Kirsty’s been bad this week, worse than ever. Not content with throwing a baby rattle at Tyrone and bruising his face, she registered Ruby’s birth with father unknown. Poor Tyrone’s got no legal rights to his daughter and is in no position to chuck Kirsty, as he was planning to do, because if she goes, Ruby goes too and Tyrone wants his daughter more than the world. Fiz rings a solicitor to find out what Tyrone’s options are but the truth is, he’s stuffed. He can apply for parental rights which needs a DNA test that Kirsty has to give permission for, and there’s no chance of that. Battered, bruised and bullied, Tyrone slinks back home, snarls at Fiz and tells Kirsty she can go back to work stitching knickers and he’ll look after baby Ruby full-time at home.
Over at the salon, it’s curlers at 10 o’clock when Michelle and Tracy have a fight over Ryan. Tracy continues to wind up Michelle by snogging her son on the soft furnishings. It’s too much for Michelle. She’s tried to stay calm and she can’t so she chucks Ryan out and bars Tracy from the flat. “My house! My rules!” Ryan rushes round to Tracy and tells her he’s moving in with her but this isn’t what Tracy wants, no not at all, but he’s too thick to see it. He moves in with Sally after Sophie finds him at the bus stop with nowhere to go.
Meanwhile, Lloyd meets daughter Jenna and tries to impress her in the Bistro over a posh meal and wine. But it doesn’t go well until they both find out that they’re pie and chips kind of people and so decamp to the Rovers where they get on very well. But it’s not plain sailing just yet as Mandy’s mardy with Lloyd for meeting Jenna behind her back and Jenna’s not happy with Mandy because she’s trying to stop her from meeting Lloyd. Poor Lloyd’s caught in the middle with a lot to learn.
Elsewhere, it doesn’t take Ken long to get over the shock of having Wendy Crozier back in his life. He dolls himself up in his best suit and tie and heads out to have a drink with her. Does he tell Deirdre? Does he ‘eck as like.
I think we all know where this is heading and I can’t wait, I just can’t wait for Deirdre to confront Wendy next week.
In Roy’s Rolls, Mary’s over the moon when she opens a letter telling her she’s won two transatlantic flights in a caption competition. She ponders flying to the States but can’t think who she might take with her. Norris does his best, and fails, to get himself invited and Mary hands both tickets to the Croppers instead. She overhears them talking about Roy’s mum Sylvia who’s in Palm Springs with Milton and insists Roy and Hayley use the tickets to visit. Roy and Hayley in Palm Springs! Now there’s a spin-off DVD I'd buy.
And finally this week, Maria’s miserable and in a nice bit of alliteration, the only one to notice is Marcus. She confides in him that she’s found a lump in her breast and he goes to the clinic with her where they do a test and tell her she has to have another one done. Marcus comforts Maria and holds Maria’s hand while Jason hasn’t got a clue what’s going on – with Maria, with Marcus, with much in life really.
And that’s just about that for this week. This week's writers were Ellen Taylor, Jayne Hollinson, Damon Rochefort, Joe Turner and Martin Allen. Find out more about the Coronation Street writing team here.

Fizz should sack her solicitor for giving incomplete advice. Tyrone can petition for a court order to force Kirsty to allow an official dna test.
DIY test results won't get his name on the birth certificate. But hey, it's only a soap.
How did Kevin get baby Jack's DNA? Didn't he pilfter the kids dummy?
This story which, at first seemed brilliant is now going down the road of stupidity and will put the viewers off out of sheer frustration. Even Ty can't be that thick. And where is his best mate Kirk in all of this?
The entire legal angle of this storyline with Tyrone and Kirsty is ridiculous. Yes it's a soap and twisting the facts helps to move the story along but it sends a terrible message about seeking parental rights, particularly for men. Saying he can't force the issue of parental rights and petition the court to compel a DNA test is complete garbage.
