There's a news story in today's Sun that reckons Coronation Street's Samia Ghadie (Maria Connor) will be joining the next series of ITV's Dancing on Ice.
If Samia does take part in the show, she'll be following in the skating-steps of Corrie co-star Andy Whyment, who plays Maria's on-screen brother.
TV Biz in The Sun says that Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle has already been signed up to star in Dancing on Ice and that as well as Samia Ghadie, former EastEnder Matt Lapinskas (who he?) will be on the show too.

The EastEnders star played one of the Moon cousins. He was written out recently after only being in the show around 1 year. More or less a new character suddenly created for a long running family (when theres so many other relatives who have been forgotten) and hired for looks. Every soap has one.
I know this is off topic, but I was watching 'Titanic: Blood and Steel' on CBC last night, and who plays Mr. Ismay? None other than Tony Gordon!!! I almost didn't recognize him with his 'stache!
Cheers!
If she is participating in Dancing on Ice, this must mean her character will be off screen for some time, a la Kirk when he was participating in the same thing.
Please god, let it not be a maternity leave for Maria!
