Pics: Labour leader Ed Miliband on Coronation Street

The Labour leader Ed Miliband has paid a visit to the Coronation Street set today. The Labour party conference is currently taking place in Manchester.  The MEN says that Ed's wife is a fan of the show but he doesn't usually watch it.

Ed Miliband's not the first polictician to have used the Street's popularity to bolster their own.
Tony Blair did it and Thatcher did it.

I hate it when politicians (of any hue)jump on the soap bandwagon. Fine as an extra but please don't give them any dialogue. Cringeworthy.

About as real then as the late Jim Callaghan who called Elsie Tanner the sexiest thing on tv and later confessed that he'd never even seen the programme.
