So it's Watchgate: Anne's furtive and guilty-looking expression as Sally realised Frank's beloved watch was missing was as they went through his possessions was obviously a clue Anne knew about its whereabouts. Talking of whereabouts, what about Jenny? As Frank's girlfriend and business partner at the time of his death, surely she would have be one of the first people to be questioned by police? But she seems to have disappeared from view as abruptly as she was deposited in the storyline and no-one ever seems to mentioned her. Another annoying aspect to this clunking current whodunnit storyline.
Meanwhile Peter Barlow, following his untrue confession regarding Frank's murder to the police, was splashed on the cover of the Weatherfield Gazette, prompting the observation from Mary: "Peter Barlow's always had a sort of smouldering quality." Mary's definitely the sort of woman of a certain age who would write romantic letters to American serial killers on death row.
Lewis got his job back at the Bistro while sweetheart Audrey had to pretend to be annoyed about it, while the school lunch feud between Kylie and Brian escalated and ended up with him on his back splattered in chips and mushy peas.
Dev was more interested in playing online golf games than spending time with wife Sunita, which will add even more glint to the eye of flirty Karl, who definitely has more on his mind than playing roulette with Sunita following their secret visits to the casino... a future game of tonsil tennis undoubtedly. There seems to be a lot more screen chemistry between John Michie and Shobna Gulati than there is between him and Michelle Collins, who still alas hasn't nailed the accent, in my view. Whereas Scottish Michie's Manchester accent is pretty faultless.
Can't wait to see Everton chairman Bill Kenwright back as Gordon Clegg at Betty's funeral next week - it just wasn't the same when the role was played by another actor last time.
