Coronation Street cast members sent a united message condemning the recent riots which spread to Manchester and Salford and offered their words of support to those backing the clean up campaign.
The Coronation Street set was closed early and cast were sent home from the studios because the noise of police helicopters and sirens disrupted the filming.
Since then, the Corrie cast have voiced their opinions to their strong fan base on Twitter.
Julie Hesmondhalgh, who plays Hayley Cropper, and is @juliehes on twitter, directed people to outlets where they can donate and volunteer their time. Follow Julie on twitter here.
