So, Ciaran McCarthy, smarmster of the parish, is staying on Coronation Street after all. He's swarthy and handsome, pulls a mean pint. And although we have yet to see him ironing sans-shirt, it can only be a matter of time.
So, now that the Irish charmer is staying on the cobbles, who should Corrie team him up with in the romantic stakes? Not Sunita again, that'd be too obvious, or Michelle, or Leanne. This fan would like him to bring a bit of blarney to Mrs Barlow and let him have a fling with Deirdre. Oh go on, Corrie, please.

I think he might take a shine to Maria. He could get all protective of her when Tony comes around. Or Natasha could amuse Ciaran for a brief encounter or two.
I was also thinking Maria - she obviously has a thing for the Irish.
I think Liz should do the cougar thing again.
Janice (wee Jimmy Crankie) perhaps. His mate Peter being with Leanne, he could end up as his stepdad!
The new Little and Large?
I'm wondering if Kieran isn't actually already just out of frame on that shot of Deirdre. Ooo-errr. Specs off!
I reckon Claire is due a bit of the oirish. Not Liz, too repulsive to watch at tea time.
He was with Tracy at one point though - I don't think Deidre is into sloppy seconds from her own daughter.
Please please please not with old Dreary. The sceenes a few years back with Dev and Dreary 'getting it on' were enough for another 50 years of Corrie.
No-one could wish this on the poor Irishman. Kissing old Deidre would be like licking out a filthy ashtray. Ugggggh.
I think putting him with Michelle would actually be a good move, obvious as it may be. Maria? Not sure he is her type anymore. She has matured her tastes i think.
I know! Natasha! Please, please, please! She needs to be used more, is currently being wasted and they would be absolutely brillaint together.
Does he have to "cop off" with anyone?
Couldn't the writers show some imagination and have a non-pairing- related storyline?
Lazy, lazy storylining. I've had enough of it.
Why the cheers for this character. Anyone who remembers his first entry into the Street will remember that he is a sleeze par excellence.
Jason! It's the only way!!
Kieran should be the new man in Sean's life. Sean has been a bit loney in the love stakes of late - ideal pairing!
