Coronation Street creator Tony Warren was given the Royal Television Society's Lifetime Achievement Award last night. The judges said that Corrie "the most successful programme in the history of British television" and "has for virtually every week of its 49 years been the most watched in Britain and which for millions of us is inseparable from the story of our own lives".
Why then, wasn't Corrie even nominated for Best Soap and Continuing Drama at the awards? All of the winners are listed here.
