As expected after the News of the World rumour yesterday, Corrie have denied that Julie Goodyear is returning to Coronation Street as Bet Lynch.
An ITV spokeswoman told Sky TV: "At the moment there are no plans for Bet to return. The new producer hasn't even started yet, he's not made any decisions. There are lots of exciting things being planned for the 50th anniversary but nothing has been finalised."

As I put in another post, I heard on the radio this morning that Bet, Maureen Holdsworth and Curly Watts will be back for the 50th.
I hope Bet does come back, even for a one-off. She's one of my all-time favourites.
A classic "I told you so moment!". A guest stint, fine. No longer. Please.
Speaking of people returning (or not, as the case may be) according to the Radio Times Jesse is back next week (yawn)
