The Royal Visit to the Rovers Return
As reported, today marks the visit to the set of Coronation Street by Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. The Mail Online has photos from the visit on its website already along with a description of the visit. Seems like most of the cast turned out to greet the Duchess who admits she's a lifelong fan. She even wore a new pin on her coat depicting Hilda's flying ducks, which was made for her visit by Manchester local designer, Keith Simpson. The pin will be auctioned for charity later. The Duchess toured the outdoor set and watched a scene being filmed. She also got to pull a pint in the Rovers Return and was quite pleased to meet the cast members that turned out including William Roache, Barbara Knox and Beverly Callard. Unfortunately, birthday girl Betty Driver was not on set today and she was missed. By all accounts the Duchess had a great time and stayed longer than she was meant to. I know the feeling!

The Mail's piece obviously wasn't written by a fan. "Actress Liz McDonald, who plays landlady Beverley Callard..."!
yes lol or just a rush job to get it up online first
Other than that faux pas it was a lovely piece.
