What will happen to Simon?

The fall-out from Joe's death is going to be the main story-line for a while, but what about the Barlows? The writers and actors have done this tragic story justice so far - let's hope they keep up the high standard.

What I'm wondering is this. How will little Simon cope, if Peter stays off (or is it on??) the wagon? Poor wee mite. Leanne will survive - she's a tough cookie and Janice will be there for her. But she should stop blaming herself for helping him on his boozy way. Ciaran's "done good" reprising his role as Peter's devil-may-care mate - hope he's not going to just turn into Michelle's "love interest". He deserves better, in my view!

And is Grandad George going to turn out to be a goodie after all - rather than the full-on villain I was looking forward to seeing Anthony Valentine pull out all the stops portraying? maybe he's just a "mixed bag" like the rest of us ('scuse the expression!). Should Peter be out of action for a while, the prospect of Grandad Ken and Grandad George having a tussle over Simon will be riveting, but heartbreaking viewing.

Poor little Simon, he can come and stay with us any time he likes. Surely Social Services would be involved at some stage? Doesnt seem realistic that they are not.

What a great actor Peter Barlow is, sorry his real name has just slipped me right now. Also when I saw him walking down the street, well stumbling a bit all in black it dawned on me he would make a great childcatcher out of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Loved Deidre's silver chain belt on Monday and also Gail's new coat!!

Deirdre's chain belt caught my eye as well, daisychain - a real 70s job if ever I saw one! Gail's coat loked like a shiny mattress but I suppose she needed it in the Lakes in darkest Feb.. Chris Gascoyne's the actor, and yes, I do agree he'd be a cracking childcatcher!!
