Ken and Deirdre have a wedding anniversary in April and it seems they may be having a bit of a do in the pub. On screen, Blanche is still in Portugal and enjoying the sun. I noticed in Monday's episode that Deirdre mentioned the only good thing about the upset with Peter is that "Me mother's not here!". I can imagine it must have been a difficult line for Anne Kirkbride. Anyway, regarding that anniversary party, it seems the writers have one last Blanche-ism for us in the form of a card from "me mother" to Ken and Deirdre. According to the Mirror, the note in the card says "I considered surprising you by flying back for your party. But then I remembered some of your previous anniversary parties and couldn't imagine it'd be worth the bother. Besides, it's 83°F here and we have a pool."
Can you picture it? She's by the pool, in long sleeves, long trousers, a big floppy hat and them oversized sunglasses because you can't be too careful with the sun these days!
