Fab Photo Friday - February 12
Back in the summer of 2002, the wonderful Maureen Lipman appeared in Coronation Street as the snobby Lillian Spencer, complete with a feckless son, Timothy, and an equally snotty daughter, Danielle, pictured here. She started as she meant to go on, barring several of the regulars and installing her own children's feet under Fred's table. However, she regarded the Rovers as far beneath her and when Fred intimated that they could take their relationship one step further, she gathered her children and her mynah bird, Dinah, and swept off for parts unknown. Marvellous stuff!

She was the Annie Walker of the 2000s, but as we all know, there's only one Mrs Walker!
Wonderful. "Lilian, never Lily and never, ever Lil".
Lilian was classic!!
It's a shame that Maureen Lipman wouldn't agree to a longer stint - she really could have been an Annie Walker for the new millennium... although I agree that no one could quite equal Doris Speed.
