Oh dear! In the previews for next week’s Coronation Street, Phelan gets Anna arrested for GBH – and she’s done nothing wrong.
With Seb in hospital after his fall from the ladder, Phelan visits Seb and drips poison in his ear, telling him that Anna pushed him off the ladder in an attempt to kill him and when Seb repeats it to Faye she calls the police.
The police call at No.13 and question Anna about the allegations involving Seb. Anna swears she’s innocent, adamant that Seb fell from his ladder and she came to his rescue. The police are disbelieving. And when a sweep of the Solicitor’s office leads to the discovery of her earring by the window she is arrested on suspicion of GBH.

How much more suffering can this poor woman take? I thought Carla had it bad, but Anna is the scriptwriters' punching bag. Rape, bankruptcy, severe burning, hateful adoptive daughter, on-going torment from Phelan, now a false arrest! All the ugliest stuff. Her days when all she had to worry about was Eddie's malingering and cake-baking are a distant memory.
I'm with Jeanie. I guess they needed someone to be the 'punching bag' as she put it. No wonder she's leaving.
