Very interesting. I wonder if he's the first of the new cast members beign brought in by the new producer Stuart Blackburn? Anyone know?
Groan, that means the pointless Gloria is returning. Why oh why???
Gee, I hadn't missed Gloria at all. Maybe Stella will steal her fella and she'll leave again.
Throughout his career Timothy West has been typecast as a pushy, bombastic, overbearing, professional, bossy type. Slightly upper class accent delivery.
With that in mind - dare I say, that'll be why they chose him for this part.
Would have been great if instead, he'd been selected as someone Brian has to answer to.
I feel rather depressed about the great Timothy West joining the cast. Perhaps if it's under the new regime it will work, otherwise he's likely to go the same way as Robert Vaughn, Sue Johnston etc.
dont like stell from the day she showed up on the street why bring her back dont need her in the show she is rude if she comes back with a man let audrey steal him tit for tat as they say she deserves it buttercup from canada .
Worst performance from Sue Johnstone I've ever seen. Totally not credible!
Actors with big reputations, resting on their laurels - beware of taking easy-money soap gigs for granted!
I would imagine that it's only a short term character.
Oh wow! Timothy West is acting royalty! How did they manage to get him?
Oh rats. I guess this means Stella is sticking around and not leaving with Phil.
yes Dilly Tim West is a good but so is Sue Johnston, but you need a good script and the corrie writes are not produceing them ,the gggggggGloria charector was AWful like a panto mine figure way over the top situations i was glad to see the back of her and i was so looking forward to sue johnson coming to corrie ,Lets hope this new fella can shake it all up abit ,i feel now like its a skit on soaps and the unbeliverble story lines
More moaning I see.
Ohhhh nooooooo! Not Gloria again!
~JB in Canada
I think the problem was how the character was written. Full-on over the top and annoying. On the rare occasion when Sue Johnston had something a little more nuanced to do, she was great. Unfortunately those scenes were few and far between. Let's hope they have a good hard look at the character in the meantime and put some light and shade into her. Otherwise it's a complete waste of good talent.
Despised Gloria. I don't want to see her back and certainly not with some tag along.
If someone with the calibre of Timothy West is to join the cast, then why not bring him in as a friend of Norris or Dennis or even Emily or Rita, why does he have to be an appendige to ghastly Gloria, living in the pub, Stella rolling her eyes - oh mother - ARRGHGHH NOOOOO
