With thanks to our blogger Tvor who runs the Canadian version of our Coronation Street Blog, we bring you the screen grab of Roy from last night's Corrie. Roy wondering who Dolly Parton was while presenting his big iced buns with a cherry on the top was a cheap laugh but a good one and worth a blog post of its own.
And in that same scene he butted in wonderfully when Hayley was singing The Carpenter's hit: "Jambalaya, crawfish pie... bacon sandwich". Superb. I do hope this is a taste of Corrie fun things to come for the Jubilee fancy dress party next week.

A superb little moment!
This is the kind of Corrie that I like to see--none of the dreary Tiny-Rick plot that regurgitates itself to the nth degree--so sick of it. Just beat the crap out of Rick and drop him in the canal for a change. It's fun to watch just the average day to day stuff and never mind the cliffhangers.
The iced bun gag only worked because it was so subtly done by the wonderful David Nielson; in the hands of a less deft actor it could have been cringe-inducing. Wish the writers would remember more often they have some very talented performers to work with.
How did those three manage to keep from laughing through this scene. Wonderful scene by all. Haleys expression..too funny.

I like this sort of subtle humour better than the constant random bad singing scenes we get every few episodes.
