Last nights episode of Corrie confirmed what many of us expected, that Chesney and Katy's new baby will probably be born around Christmas time. A yuletide birth seems to be a regular occurrence on the cobbles. Rosie Webster, David Platt, the Mallet twins, Nick Tilsly, Ben Watts and Hope Stape have all been born during the festive season in recent years. Jason Grimshaw also had his "child" Holly dropped on his doorstep on Christmas Day.
A new face on the street at Christmas is normally a light hearted occasion which is appropriate for the time of year. Who can forget Norris hilariously trying to deliver Emma and Curly's new son, and Sally giving birth to Rosie in the back of a cab?
Providing the new Battersby-Brown baby is born healthy, a new arrival to the Corrie universe will be a nice happy occasion and will be a welcome contrast to the drama and anguish that will no doubt be happening elsewhere as Becky McDonald leaves the street.
Let us know if we've missed any Noel newborns in the comments!

I dont like Katie and Chesney I am afraid, they are pretty pointless and she is as wet as a weekend in Skeggie. Bleating one minute they cant pay the leccy bill, and then paying for a fry up in Roys the next.
Ridiculous. No-one has any empathy or warmth towards these two. Another sloppy tired storyline.
Katie and Chesney being young parents doesn't seem to have bothered anyone on the street. Someone like Sylvia would be making remarks about throwing your life away, but perhaps I missed that. It could be there are so many bizarre things going on that nobody's noticed.
The tensions of living with a baby and no money coming in should make for some drama in the new year.
I'm surprised at their concern about the baby possibly having Izzy's disease. It seems that Katie and Ches have been eating poorly since the pregnancy began. If this weren't a soap, I'd think they'd be more concerned about the obvious malnutrition their unborn child now suffers.
Good thing it's just a soap.
Aw, such sour pusses. I love Ches and Katy. Ches obviously loves her dearly and is trying to be a responsible father-to-be. I like the way Owen has slowly come around to joining the human race, due to Anna's softening influence. A good reason for the question of a potential disability to come up at the scan. Owen's got big shoulders, and I loved the scenes afterwards, when he told Chesney he had faith in him, but was also there to lend support.
I can see Ches growing up to be a Street success, owning a chain of family shops. Nice to have a character that isn't a murderer, adulterer or sociopath.
