Over the past month, I've noticed a lot of people are asking where comedy has gone from Corrie, and in a way I agree, Corrie still has the witty one-liners in each episode, and the escapades of Steve McDonald and Lloyd Mullaney, but there seems to be the lack of any light-hearted storylines at the moment.
Tracy seems to actually be providing some comedy in the banter she has with Tina and with the locals, she seems to be fitting in behind the bar quite well.
I think we're in for a treat though as Sylvie Cropper should be arriving soon, and from what I hear, she'll be similar in fashion to Blanche. I hope they have her working in Roy's Rolls, passing comment on the locals, as Roy looks on, wondering why he hired her. Then there's also Norris, Mary and Rita, who will most likely be making an apperance again soon when the Kabin reopens. Tommy Duckworth looks to be the cheeky chappy type who will turn the women's heads on the street, and also be the one to drag Tyrone out of his rut. Though the downside is that we are losing Eddie Windass and Graeme Proctor.

I agree. I love the comedy storylines, people criticised it for being too 'panto' at the time but Cilla's antics were great! Like the time half an episode was devoted to her nicking stuff on a mobility scooter...
It's been in short supply of late, i agree. A little bit with Rosie and that's about it.
I disagree that Tracy is "comedy" how does making nasty comments to people be funny? Now we are to have Roy's dreadful mother that gave him an unhappy childhood unless they change the course of history again, sniping and slagging people off, not funny. Norris can be funny and Mary sometimes although she became too wierd for me. They had the chance to bring in funny old Enid but of course they are bringing her in only to kill her off - DAH!
Too much violence and arguments in Corrie now and not enough humour. Its getting more and more like Deadenders under Mr C.
Well, I don't entirely agree. There are still characters who raise a smile - Julie, Steve, and recently the wonderful Rosie who has gone from irritating to hilarious and makes a great double act with Jason - and even in the midst of high drama and gloom there are moments which break the tension (such as the comment made by Dev during the blessing last week, and Sunita thumping him). Just little things, like Steve having the teddy bear tucked in the back of his trousers, always lift it for me.
I find Anna Windass quite amusing - albeit unintentionally sometimes.
I agree, there are a few characters in the show at the moment that make me chuckle, I usually get at least two laughs out of each episode - usually laugh out loud ones too (not even comedy shows can make me laugh like Corrie does)
Tracy is funny because the things she says are outrageous, she wouldnt be funny in real life, but in the show, she is :p
I think the humour around Tracy is clunking & flat at best - VERY frustrated that we're supposed to see her as a "love to hate" character. She's just terrible as a baddie - I think she'd do better as a normal character but too late for that now.
