Two actors hurt in Corrie cat-fight

The Mirror reports today that Vicky Entwistle (Janice) and Katy Kavanagh (Julie) were left bloodied after a staged brawl went wrong. The scripted Coronation Street fight scenes saw Vicky hurl a chair and pin Katy to a wall. But Katy suffered a split lip while Vicky had blood coming from an injured finger.

One insider on the Manchester set said: “She sat there looking sorry for herself while Vicky sol­diered on after being treated. Things were calmed down eventually. But the scenes will have to be re-filmed and Katy’s lip covered up to make it look normal again. Bosses take health and safety issues seriously and this should never have happened. There was a fight co-ordinator watching the action.” Viewers will see the fight in Underworld next month as part of Janice's leaving storyline.
