There's a really good interview with Coronation Street actresses Brooke Vincent and Sacha Parkinson, who of course play Sophie and Sian on Corrie.
The girls are best friends in real life and the interview covers their lesbian story on Corrie, reaction from fans and how much they're enjoying their work on the Street.
Have a read of it here.

I love their storyline, think Brooke & Sacha have played it soo well!
Yawn yawn yawn, one screeching harpie the other a gormless nonentity, I groan whenever these two come on screen.
With you there, Frosty.
Love them both - great storyline and they are playing it well . Seem nice girls in really life too .
Sian phones in her performance: she's the most wooden actor on TV since Lady Penelope.
If Sacha who plays Sian was soo wooden as people make out, don't you think they would of got rid of her or not even offered her a job. And Brooke can't help the way she speaks, both brillient actors!
I'm enjoying these two and think that since it looks like they will remain a couple (with ups and downs), their storylines will inevitably get more dramatic & interesting.
I don't think their accents are a problem, but they both tend to mumble their lines quite often, something other young Corrie actors have been guilty of. I would hope the directors would gently coach them into using better enunciation.
I find it easier to put the subtitles on when they are speaking. I tend to find this with all the kids though!
sian is not wooden or even a bad actor in my opinion and many other peoples opinion i think sacha parkinson(sian) and brook vincent(sophie) are the most amazing thing to happen to coronation street in a very long time i have even stopped watching eastenders and all the other soaps due to the fact sian and sophie are now officially together if sacha parkinson(sian) is such a bad actress why did they give her the job cause just remeber that they have to hold auditions to decide if she was good to be in the show the writers said yes the producers said yes and even the person who came up with the show said yes soo she can't be that bad. :D ilove sacha parkinson and brook vincent they are both amazing!! <3
Canadian viewer who is just getting to see the "love" story evolve and I think their storyline is that.. a love story whether it is between different sexes or same sex, it's being displayed as two people who love one another. Think both Brooke and Sacha have done a superb job. Their facial expressions often say more than words. Looking forward to seeing how the relationship grows.
i really love the storyline especially how sacha and brooke made it seems so real.. i always caught myself smiling, whenever they kiss, hug, argue, or even just simply lookin' at each other. you can really feel the love vibe when you watch them.
