I can't recall looking forward to watching a television programme as much as I was looking forward to The Road to Coronation Street. I'd bought a bottle of good wine that'd been chilling in the fridge since I'd first found out about this BBC4 drama written by ex-Corrie writer

So, did it live up to my expectations? Oh yes, and more. I'm actually sitting here with tears in my eyes after watching it just now. Wasn't Jessie Wallace wonderful as Pat Phoenix and wasn't the rest of the casting spot on?
