The Chief Executive of ITV, Adam Crozier, suggested today that he's interested to find out if Coronation Street fans would pay to watch online content such as alternative endings and previews. You can read the full report in The Guardian.
But let's take a vote of Corrie fans who read this blog.

I wouldn't because i can't see it anyway, not often anyway. Sometimes in the newspapers, those videos can be viewed outside the UK but on the itv or bbc sites, you can't see them unless you do some fancy jiggery pokery.
I'm with Tvor. As an overseas viewer, I'd only pay if I could watch. It should be possible to set up a subscription system where non-UK fans paid the Royal TV Tax (or whatever it's called) as part of the price.
I agree. I am out of the UK, and I wouldn't mind paying if I could watch episodes. The extras could be nice, too.
Same here. Too tricky to get at online for me. I'm also not keen to watch alternative endings and the like. I just love pure Corrie. Even the occasional bad Corrie is better than no Corrie. What I love about it is that it's always reliable. Corrie's been with me my entire life and regardless of what bombs are being dropped in the world, Corrie remains.
I'd definately pay for DVDs of old episodes with favourite story lines though.
I don't think Adam Crozier has the overseas audience in mind with this one. Sounds more like a money grab to me. It also sounds like a terrible idea for Corrie. I prefer to imagine what could have been, or would have been with my own creative mind. It's all part of the fun of watching the show.
Yes definitely a money grab. I don't think even if i was in the UK, that i would pay just for the extras. They don't film alternate endings very often, and previews? pah, spoilers are all over the internet anyway
No, I wouldn't pay. I'm with Ange - I like "pure Corrie". Not interested in alternative endings and the like.
no i wouldnt pay any online fee for extras-apart from ripping people off wots the poont in having endless alternative endings-i liked it when they do it occasinally so noone gets to know wot happens till the las tminute but not all the time just for the sake of charging people
