Francesca Mannyng will be appearing in Coronation Street for the second time in her acting career. She first appeared on the Street in 2002 as Les Battersby’s first girlfriend following his split from Janice. And we'll see her back on screen next month for one episode, as a bouncer who throws Becky Granger out of a pub.
Francesca says: “I try to fit in acting when I can and I am auditioning for things all the time, but the Coronation Street role was the most recent. It was a lot of fun."
But while Francesca may have appeared on Corrie in two different roles, did you know there's a fella who's been on Corrie in seven different roles?

So Becky is to revert to her drunken out of control self? Something to look forward to - not!
@ Ena's Hairnet - My sentiments exactly. Well, we know she's going to lose the baby so of course she's probably going to resort back to her old ways. I'm tired of the drunk-tragic-Becky-woe-is-me...it's annoying.
Couldn't agree more. No disrespect to the actress, but I really find Becky very annoying.
The bouncer sounds great though!!
i sew a mistake in beckeys name she iis now called beckey macdonld if i last nmae wrong let me know at face book mike cunniffe thk
It seems the characters get mighty annoying if they're not engaged in a major plotline or just building up to it. The writers of Corrie should 'up' their game a bit. Minor plots are important as well and a chance to show a different side to a character and possibly impart some comic relief in the middle of these more serious, tragic storylines... same with the rather lame storyline involving Eileen and Jesse...
I don't remember her the first time she appeared as Les Battersby's girlfriend in 2002.
As for actors appearing in multiple roles in the street, it's not as uncommon as you might think.
Roy Barraclough, one time sidekick to Les Dawson, and (most famously) Alec Gilroy of the Rovers Return had already appeared I believe in no fewer than FIVE separate roles before being reincarnated and taking up his role as the scheming club agent.
Mark Eden, a snake of the cobbles in his role as Alan Bradley who terrorised Rita Sullivan, had already appeared as Wally Randell a love interest of Elise Tanner in 1980 before taking up the role for which he was to become so famous 6 years later.
Peter Dudley had I believe also appeared in several minor roles before becoming Bert Tilsley, first husband of poison Ivy in 1979.
I always find it amazing that they can bring actors back to the show in different roles and viewers simply do not notice.
