There's no ignoring her, that's for sure. But Alison King, who plays Carla Gordon, says that fans admire Carla on Corrie. I don't agree. Now then, I don't admire her for one minute and I never have. I'm a little scared of her and her presence on Coronation Street lends a dark side which intrigues me, but as for admiring, no. But never mind me, what do you think about Carla Gordon and are you glad she's back?
And is she (could anyone ever be?) the new Elsie Tanner?

One of the best on Corrie in my eyes :D
There'll only ever be 1 Elsie Tanner and it sure aint that plastic fantastic in the above pic!!!
As for carla i cant stand her and the actress doesn't come across well either!
Carla is an amazing character, believable and compelling to watch. So she's no Pat Phoenix, who is? Thank God she's back.
I don't really like her and I'm not sure she's actually that popular. I find her irritating and I kind of think she's a glorified chav! A lot of people say she's a successful strong character, but her success has been aided by both of her wealthy businessman husbands. And she's not really likeable as a person; she covered up Kasia's death, had an affair with her married brother in law and left everyone in the Street to Tony's mercy when she found out the truth. And she can be quite bitchy and rude to people. No wonder she has no friends on the Street!
I don't mind that she is back because she is obviously important to the storyline, and I can see past my dislike for her because the Tony storyline is just so good. I actually really like Alison King, she comes across as very down to earth in interviews and I think she is a good actress.
I love love love Carla, as i'm sure you've probably guessed from all my previous posts. I think she's ballsy and confident with quick wit and snappy retorts. Life's been hard on her and she takes no shit!
I wouldn't really say she's the new Elsie Tanner as she's a character in her own right but she's similar in the way of she's a strong Corrie woman, which Elsie is and was always famous for.
My favourite corrie character played by an amazing actress. I love her!!!
I think i do like the character. Carla isn't meant to be all that likeable but she does have a vulnerable side now and then that makes her more sympathetic. Even when it looked like she was giving Tony his way, she really just seemed to be biding her time and she's not afraid to stand up to him.
I do quite like Carla but I think she should have left in a blaze of glory and I am not that happy to see her back as I think in "real life" she would have moved on. I agree with the post that she has made her "success" on the backs of the businessmen she married and she is rude and unpleasant, and was quite horrible to poor Maria. She looks quite scary now she is back, dont know what she has done to her face, she looked positively Halloween like when she was sitting in the car at the churchyard - shudder!
I like her and I think there's a lot to be told about her past.
Her ceaseless bitchiness to blameless Maria for the apparent "sin" of stealing Carla's brother-in-law made the character permanently unlikeable in my eyes.
Just an all-round unpleasant woman with no redeeming side.
And she's too old to wear her hair down like a teenager.
Love her! She's not really a villain, she's just a strong woman, and Tony deserves all he gets.
Absolutely hate the ugly munter - always have, always will. I still can't understand how people can think she's even slightly attractive - she looks like a chimpanzee. Alison King should stay at home and look after her child.
Corr flippin' 'eck Dilly jealous much? Fair enough to criticise a character or the acting skills of someone but to bring in Alison's appearance is pretty low. Ugly munter? Yeah alright, should have gone to specsavers love! I'd love to see what you look like!
