Johnny Briggs wants Mike Baldwin's twin on Corrie

In a shameless bit of self-publicity, Johnny Briggs says he could return to Coronation Street as Mike Baldwin's twin brother. He says: “It worked in Dallas where he came out of the shower as someone else. I would do something like that, definitely.”

Well, you can't blame the fella for trying.

We could have the 'twins' of Liam Connor, Richard Hillman etc come to the street too :)

Sounds like retirement isn't all it was cracked up to be

let's limit the American-style gimmicks...but I'm new to Corrie -- never saw an episode with this character so I personally won't mind the appearance of a twin...as long as the storyline is somewhat interesting...anything beats this Molvin affair...quick bring on the evil twins, resurrection from death or the ghost of Liam... or even the evil spirit possession of David by Richard Hillman's doomed spirit (another character whom I've never seen)...

Speaking of Baldwins, I'd give ANYTHING to have Danny back, even if it was just for a brief storyline. :)

Frankie Baldwin's wedding has been mentioned as Roy and Hailey are off to Transilvania, who gets married in vampire country? Who is she marrying, has that been mentioned or do we have to buy the DVD?

Anon: It's not been stated but apparantly, it's a footballer.

It didn't work in Dallas where Bobby came out of the shower as HIMSELF (not as somebody else).

In any event, by the time Baldwin came to leave the street he was long since passed his sell by date, was rarely featured (ie had very few storylines) and was largely peripheral to the series.

So what would be the point of resurrecting a character the writers did not care for?

I know when he left, Briggs was talking of cracking Hollywood. In reality his post corrie career has turned out to be a supporting role in fifth rate 'flop' soap, Echo Beach & a guest appearance in daytime soap, Doctors and not much else!
